i hate when they come up, but i am honored to do them. todays workout was for an army ranger who gave up his ghost in 2009. the hero WOD was called "mcghee" he was taken out by small arms fire in iraq. and i guess the thing is, is why does he get a workout? i mean there have been 5000+ who have given up their ghosts in these "wars". i wish that there was a WOD for each and every one of them. and not just the rangers, seals, marine recon, SF, various SPECOPS from other countries. where is the workouts for the cooks, petroleum specialists, and mail clerks? sure there jobs arent all glamourous and shooting people in the face, but they are still an integral in the machine that is the united states armed forces. this is in no way a condemnation on CrossFit (someone kick me if i ever think as such) all i am saying is that i hope and wish more people or crossfitters would share the stories of Hero's in their lives who were not necessarily all "hooah and shit" . I hope and pray to God that i will never have to submit my brothers in arms as WODs, but i sure as hell would.
